Ace = 1, cards 2–9 at face value, 10s and picture cards = 0. Only the last digit counts (7 + 6 = 13, so 3).
Third card (if needed)
Fixed rules decide whether a third card is drawn. You never have to decide.
Result
The side closest to 9 wins. If they are equal, the result is a Tie.
Two Example Hands, Step by Step
Hand 1: Player wins after a third card
- Player gets 2 and 3 = 5. On 0–5, Player draws a third card: 7. The total is 12, so 2.
- Banker gets K and 6 = 6. Because Player’s third card is a 7, Banker on 6 draws: 4. The total is 10, so 0.
- Result: Player 2, Banker 0 — Player wins and is paid 1:1.
Hand 2: Banker wins without a Player third card
- Player gets 6 and Q = 6. On 6 or 7, Player stands.
- Banker gets 3 and 2 = 5. Because Player stood, Banker draws on 0–5: 2. The total is 7.
- Result: Banker 7, Player 6 — Banker wins. A RM10 bet returns RM19.50 (RM9.50 profit after commission).

Betting Systems That Do Not Work
Many baccarat players go looking for a "system". So far, none of them changes the maths of the game:
Martingale
Double after a loss. A long losing run or the table limit will stop it — usually at the moment of the biggest loss.
Fibonacci
Stakes follow the 1-1-2-3-5-8 sequence. With a RM10 unit, six losses in a row already cost RM200 and the next stake is RM130.
Following roadmap patterns
Every hand is independent. "Dragon" or "ping-pong" patterns are only history, not a signal.
Paroli (double after a win)
Less dangerous than Martingale, but it still does not change the house edge.
The strategy that genuinely helps: bet Banker or Player with flat stakes, skip side bets, limit the number of hands, and claim your rebate after the session.
Budgeting for One Shoe
An eight-deck shoe usually produces around 70 to 80 hands. If you want to play a full shoe with flat RM10 stakes, you might wager RM700 to RM800 in total — although the balance you actually need is much smaller because wins and losses offset each other.
